Louis Pugmire has fallen, and we are trying to get him back up!
After 10 years of constant napping, Louis somehow ruptured a disk in his back. On his nightly walk he plopped down, and his poor little back legs simply wouldn\'t work anymore. He was rushed to emergency care where the doctors decided that his case was so severe that a surgeon needed to be called in immediately. Waiting till morning was risking permanent paralysis. At 1AM Louis went into surgery to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord. The operation was a success, and the surgeon told him he was a little champ!
Now we are in the long road to recovery. Emergency surgery was a very expensive $6800. Louis is grateful for anything you can contribute. We are hoping that with rest, love and plenty of treats he will be semi-mobile by his 11th birthday (March 21st).
