Healing in the Heart of Puerto Rico

On July 25, 2017, I received a heartbreaking phone call from my father that my cousin, Jaime, died in a bus accident two days after celebrating his 43rd birthday.
The last conversation Jaime and I shared was about setting up a retreat at El Campo - 30 acres of beautiful rainforest land owned by his parents in a town called Guavate (45 minutes South of San Juan).
Jaime and I shared a vision to create a space for people to connect with Mother Nature and learn how to heal themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - and El Campo was the perfect place for that.
Two months later, Puerto Rico was hit by two hurricanes, Irma and Maria, devastating the entire island. My family suffered and struggled without electricity for five months while at the same time grieving for the loss of Jaime. El Campo, too, suffered some damage.
At this point, hopelessness and loss were felt inside all of our hearts.
But, where there is darkness, there is light.
And the light I chose to be - as Jaime was a light in our lives, I knew in my heart, I needed to be the light and continue on with our vision.
I need your help bringing Jaime's and I last conversation to life.
My vision is to restore El Campo and transform it into a place for retreats, workshops and healing.
A place where one learns how to unbecome everything that's been holding them back so that they can become who they are meant to be. Movement, nutrition, mental and emotional health are the main focus while learning how to get back to the basics and connect with Mother Nature and with themselves so that one can experience inside-out healing.
With your help, the funds will go towards repairing, fixing and restoring the main house of El Campo that was damaged from the Hurricane as well as upgrading it to be eco-friendly. The funds will also go towards clearing the land from fallen trees to create a trail that leads to the first and second waterfall.
Help me uncover the light within El Campo and bring hope, love and connection back to my family and Puerto Rico.
