Puerto Rico Relief Medic Emergency

hashtag #SaluteToTroops.

Jon Kwon is a Medic supporting the linemen and power restoration efforts following Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

On 3 April 2018 Jon fell over 25 feet from a sea cliff crashing head first into the rocks below.

Jon suffered a serious concussion, broken arm, shattered femur, fractured spleen, fractured pelvis, collapsed lung, fractured collar bone and head trauma. Jon has no personal insurance!

Jon is a US Army veteran and has three Afghanistan Campaign Ribbons, ARMY Commendation Metal and other Service Ribbons and Awards.

Jon’s medical bills are not covered under the Puerto Rico Workers Compensation as he is a relief worker and not a PR resident and the fall happened off the job site.
He needs and deserves our help. Jon left his family to help others impacted by the storm and now faces a long expensive recovery himself.

Jon will under go his first operation today to set the broken arm and try to repair the hole in his collapsed lung. MEDEVAC flights to Miami are 30K just to get him to a mainland hospital after he is stabilized. Many operations will follow.

I ask for your help for this veteran, self-giving relief worker and very good person.

Any amount form $1.00 to what you can afford would be helpful. Anyone knowing of a medical transportation flight company that could assist would be appreciated. Anyone associated with the Puerto Rico Disabled American Veterans (DAV) we could use your assistance and network of information and contacts.
