Puerto Rico Earthquake Response

Panic has stroked the Island of Puerto Rico as a 6.4 earthquake hit on January 7. This comes following over hundreds of similar smaller earthquakes and aftershocks in the zone since December 28 as a 4.7 shook families as they enjoyed Christmas festivities. Hours after, people are living afraid, sleeping out of their houses waiting for when the next one could hit. As a state of emergency is declared and further damages are still being assessed, the Island is currently dealing with: 

- Houses that have collapsed 
- Countless buildings in rubble
- Power loss in the entire Island 
- Multiple landslides putting communities in danger 
- Roads that have cracked open impeding access
- Cultural / Historical sites that have collapsed 
- Poor land communications due to affected signal towers
- Countless injuries 
- Countless damages still awaiting to be assessed

Throughout this process we have gotten in contact directly with community leaders from the affected locations in the South of Puerto Rico, whom have served as a liaison to direct us to the communities that are most in need at the moment. 

As we raise money, we will use it to buy first-necessity items, food, and water, which we will then provide directly to those affected communities. Help us help those in need!

My name is John Beigelman and I am a member of Arnold Air Society's Eagle Squadron at San Juan, Puerto Rico. 


Arnold Air Society is a collegiate organization comprised of Air Force ROTC and Air Force Academy cadets. Our main goal is to develop young military and civic leaders who are proactive, knowledgeable, and inspired to make a difference. Together, we perform over 100,000 hours of community service yearly, together with the help of cadets within over 100 college campuses nationwide (including PR).
