PTSD-The Truth Behind The Smile

In the spring of 2017 I was diagnosed with PTSD. Accepting this diagnosis at the time was quite difficult. Summer came and went but the symptoms stuck around without any warning. In the fall of 2017 I decided that I wanted to make a difference for others who are suffering with PTSD. I wanted to ensure that more could done to help those with PTSD before it was too late. I created a Facebook page entitled PTSD The truth behind the smile. I wanted to help others by putting out content as well as live feeds so that others could see what living with PTSD was really like. In the past ten months my Facebook page has made incredible leaps and bounds and I couldn't have done it without my followers. I have decided to divide my time helping others with PTSD and continuing to host PTSD The truth behind the smile. My goal is to have a support group program developed and in place for early fall 2018. A program of this magnitude cannot get off the ground without funding or support. Donations raised will aid in the start up of the program and will also be used for group meeting expenses and materials in order to provide the best group support possible. The scope of this program will be ongoing. Once a successful group is operating for the Stratford area my goal is to provide support through meetings, talks as well as educational opportunities throughout the province and beyond.
