Beating Cancer
Our friends life has always been a roller coaster, however the last few years have seen more downs than ups. Following a broken bone two years ago she struggled to manage financially.
So when diagnosed with cancer she did not inform her employers even though it would have been highly beneficial to her treatment . A high pain threshold and being treatment resistant resulted in her treatment continuing above the NICE guidelines,Unfortunately feeling depressed, poor eating patterns and overworking all contributed to her treatment not being sufficiently effective.
In her last two weeks of treatment her body has become more receptive and there was an improvement, however the NHS are reluctant to carry on treatment as it has surpassed guidelines, her treating team have mixed views on this.
We are desperately trying to raise funds for her to have a course of treatment privately, the NHS have confirmed should this course of treatment prove sufficiently effective they will resume care.
We have kept her name anonymous as her employer is still not aware. Our Aim is to raise as much money to help pay for the private treatment and any remainder we would like to donate to the amazing Macmillan Team who really do live up to their reputation of being Angels on Earth.
