Here are the most recent reports on how the monsoon rains have evolved into dangerous flooding and the heartbreaking impact its had on the country. 30 million people have been affected, with 1,033 fatalities, 348 being children, and more than 2,000 injured. The NDMA said more than two million acres of cultivated crops have been wiped out, 3,451 kilometers of roads destroyed, and 149 bridges washed away.

During a recent interview, a respected elder said, "I have not seen destruction on this scale and find it very difficult to put into words. Many crops that provided much of the population's livelihood have been wiped out. Forcing many of our people to starve with a substantial lack of nourishment. Pakistan is going through its eighth cycle of monsoon when the country typically has only three to four cycles of rain. The percentage of super flood torrents is shocking." Another moment of difficult loss was conveyed through a gentleman named Junaid who was featured on the news sharing, "The house we built with years of hard work started sinking in front of our eyes. We sat on the side of the road and watched our dream house sink away."
