This team based at Imperial College London (on Jan. 22, 2020) reports a new estimate of 2019-nCoV activity in Wuhan, CHINA and said the city (with population similar to Chicago) probably now has 4,000 symptomatic cases. The report's 95% confidence interval ranges from 1,000 to 9,700.
The funding will go directly for Vaccine Development and the Clinical Trials. All of the Vaccine Scientists are in the USA.
The Viral Sequence for this (single stranded RNA) Virus is posted on the Internet and the GenBank Accession Number is well known by the Expert Vaccine Scientists that I am in contact with, daily.
The Vaccine Development Team will use the Tunable T-4 Lambda Phage Head Vaccine Platform. This same Vaccine Platform proved successful vs. (1) Anthrax + (2) Plague in Rabbits (that were challenged).
You might want to call this current medical situation the 'beginning of a Pandemic', so we humans will need all of the disease-prevention tools that we can invent.
This may be the best vaccine tool because the mass-manufacturing process allows for many, many more administration units compared to other vaccine types and the manufacturing process is rapid, with few chances of contamination, like with eggs and insect parts.
