Protect the Sierra Nevada Foothills!

County agencies across California have forced their urban agendas into unincorporated foothill communities within the Sierra Nevada. Cheap hotels, discount dollar stores, short term vacation rentals, and large commercial gatherings function at the expense of local environments and fragile ecosystems. Without the infrastructure of larger cities these developments have contributed to traffic congestion, air pollution, threats to wildlife, contaminated groundwater, and explosive wild fires.

In 2019, we took legal action regarding a large wedding venue openly advertised in an Agriculturally zoned area unsuitable for commercial development. This business was conducted for several years without permits, and without regard to the harm it was causing the community and the environment.

The case was denied, and we are now appealing to a higher court. We will have the opportunity to establish a vitally important California Case Law at the 5th District Court of Appeal.

We now need help paying for costly legal fees!

We feel our fight represents a broader perspective, a voice that says-Stop exploiting the foothills of the Sierra Nevada to fill the coffers of County agencies.
