Help Rommel with equipment so he can protect his local marine wildlife from destructive fishing
Hi there. A few months ago I was training Rommel and his team in the Philippines on tackling illegal fishing. He's the local Fire Chief in Tigbauam, and is also responsible for protecting local marine wildlife.
Criminals in the area use many destructive techniqies, including dynamite fishing, cyanide fishing, bottom trawling, and compressor spearfishing, all of which are illegal. Local marine wildlife is under real threat.
Rommel and his team of volunteers have done an amazing job in stopping destructive fishing in the daytime, and the pressure has forced criminals into night activites. Rommel's team howevert lack the neccessary equipment to run effective nocturnal missions.
We're raising funds to get them Night Vision Goggles and an Infra Red Spotlight so they can operate at night. EPIRB and flares so they can run safe operations. And Waterproof Camera and GPS so the evidence they gather will lead to successful prosecutions.
