Our housemate and dear friend, Drusilla Barron, is in urgent need of dental care that has been delayed for financial reasons for too long, but cannot wait any longer.

By way of further background, Drusilla herself explains:
"I have Sjogren’s, an autoimmune illness that destroys the moisture-producing glands and comes with rheumatoid arthritis. Dry mouth is one of its results, as are bad dental problems. Being on disability (I also have fibromyalgia and Crohn’s) with no dental coverage, regular dental care is out of reach.
"My dental adventure began when I developed an abscess two years ago which required me to have two teeth extracted. A few months later, I had another abscess which resulted in another extraction. I’ve not been able to afford to have those teeth replaced and can chew on only one side. (That’s especially problematic because another result of these autoimmune illnesses is difficulty swallowing.)
"I’ve been going to a Catholic Charities clinic over the past 2 years, but they have so many patients, appointments for regular dental care are usually three months apart; I've never even been able to have my teeth cleaned there.
"They offer payment plans only for root canals and require full payment at each visit, so I can afford to have them work on only one tooth at a time. In two years, they’ve filled four teeth. But in that time, two other teeth developed abscesses and require root canals and crowns. Now a third tooth, that would have been fine with a filling, needs a root canal as well.
"A friend asked a dentist from her parish if she might help. The dentist saw me, and offered to treat all my cavities at half price. She also arranged for a colleague to treat the teeth requiring root canals and crowns, also at half price. Given their very generous offers & the free care they've already provided (cleaning, x-rays & exam), her rate is almost exactly the same as the dental clinic!
"To have all the anticipated work done at this generous discount will take $5,700. Thank you in advance for your help!"
