Promising Success, Providing Gifts

Every kid should be able to take full advantage of their educational experience. For many students in America, specifically students of color, the privilege of having school supplies is just that, a privilege, leaving thousands of students without the proper resources come school time. That is why A Promise Granted and Providing Gifts Organization have teamed up for our latest initiative: Promising Success, Providing Gifts. Promising Success, Providing Gifts is an initiative dedicated to providing students with the proper resources to sustain their academic school year by raising money and accepting donated school supplies. We believe that changing students’ lives for the better truly changes the world and because of this, our committee will be taking our fundraising a step further by granting these resources to students in two classrooms of a single DC Middle school this academic year. With your help and contributions, Promising Success, Providing Gifts can and will prepare today’s promising youth with the necessary resources to excel tomorrow.


THE BACKGROUND

A Promise Granted:
In a world where promises are often broken, A Promise Granted aims to be a promise that every girl can hold onto. Founded in 2017, A Promise Granted Organization was created by a mother and her two daughters in hopes of giving young girls the opportunity to look feel and shine like the princess she is. Beginning with our first initiative of a prom drive servicing high school seniors with makeovers, hair appointments, nail appointments, and their desired dress, A Promise Granted’s vision has since transformed to turning all types of dreams into reality. We are now proud to say that while we can make a girl feel glamorous on the outside for a day, we can also make her feel just as glamorous on the inside for a lifetime. Our services now extend to young girls all over the United States on a day to day basis, because we believe that it only takes a promise granted to change the world.

Providing Gifts Organization:   
www.providinggifts.org was established by two mothers desiring initially to teach their children the benefits of giving and not just receiving. As a unit, it is our desire to do more. Two of the co-founders have had a first-hand experience with financial hardship and homelessness. Due to this, it is their passion to make a difference in the lives of those affected by low to no income. PGO is a nonprofit that exists primarily to address the issues of homelessness and has done so in Detroit and Washington, D.C. We have been fortunate to serve hundreds thus far, providing food, clothes, shoes, toiletries, and informational resources.

THE GIVEAWAY

ALL PROCEEDS of this campaign will go toward the purchase of school supplies!

Cost Estimates: 
We have an estimated budget for 65 students with an allocated cost  of $19.34 per student

Campaign goal includes cost of approximately 3% fees (2.9% + $0.30 per donation).
