Project Angel Food

Last Friday I went and visited Project Angel Food (www.angelfood.org/). For those of you that don’t know, Project Angel Food is in Los Angeles, CA – George Michael volunteered here and contributed $25,000 a year until his death, this was a cause that was something he was very passionate about. Project Angel Food helps feed the critically ill that struggle to shop and cook for themselves. They help provide a lifeline of hope, nutrition and they cook and deliver more than 11,000 meals a week!  Most of these meals have dietary constraints and require specific nutritional needs…can you imagine?!  I took a tour and got to see with my very own eyes the love and dedication that the dieticians and chefs have – they are ALL volunteers that work in the kitchen.  You can feel the love from these people!

 

I wanted to see what I could do to help this organization and how the George Michael tribute websites could help. I’m helping Project Angel Food plan the George Michael Birthday Celebration that will take place at their facility on June 25 for his birthday. I propose that we try and raise money in George Michael’s name for a cause that was so close to his heart!  I have set up a Go Fund page in the name of Project Angel Food.  If you would like to contribute, any amount – $1, $5, $10, any donation would help to make a difference! With so many of us out there…I believe that we can reach this goal in memoriam of his generosity and fervent spirit.

Being a huge George Michael fan and supporter of this cause, I have barely slept since my visit to Project Angel Food.  This cause is the embodiment of George Michael’s heart and soul and I’m happy and excited to be a part of it!
