Donation protected
STUDENTS IN JAMAICA DESPERATELY NEED ACCESS TO REMOTE EDUCATION.
Minds Of Jamaica, has created this initiative to provide 100 students from rural areas of Jamaica with access to education through the provision of a tablet and mobile data plan.

How your contribution makes an impact:
  - $10 USD will go towards a data plan for 1 student
  - $70 USD will purchase full data plan for 1 student
  - $250 USD will purchase tablet & full data plan for 1 student
  - $500 USD will purchase tablet & full data plan for 2 individual students
  - Any Amount : Our ultimate goal is to raise $36000 (gofundme + corporate) to help even more students.

What is Project Access JA and the problem it will help alleviate?
With the progression of COVID-19, schools have to find new ways of teaching students. In a developing country such as Jamaica, on-line instruction is a major challenge because, in some areas, as many as 55% of students do not have access to a computer or the internet. .

Projects Access JA aims to bridge this gap by providing tablets and data plans to some of the most affected students across the island. Our goal is to raise $25,000USD to provide 100 students with a tablet supported with a data plan known as The Education Access Kit. Additionally, in November, we will be offering these students access to an online Career Webinar with Mentors from the MindsOf Initiative platform.

How will students be chosen?
We will be working alongside key stakeholders in the education industry to identify schools from varying parishes. Once these schools are chosen, the principals from each school will select students with the greatest need and award them with an Education Kit. Our goal is to provide each selected school with a minimum of 20 Education Kits (tablet, full data plan and access to Career Webinar).

What is MindsOf Initiative?
MindsOf Initiative is a mentorship platform which provides students with greater access to career mentorship. Minds Of Jamaica was launched out of this initiative to help Jamaican students. Camir Ricketts, Clinton Global Initiative University class of 2020, founded  the social enterprise in 2019 and developed an on-line platform with tools to help students develop skills and competencies which would empower them to achieve their goals. For his work to date, Ricketts has received the Jamaican Prime Minister's National Youth Award in 2018 and the  Ignite Caribbean 30 under 30 Change Makers Award in 2019. For the execution of Project Access JA, we are partnering with other organizations such as Caribbean Girls Hack to ensure we maximize our reach.
