Prima and Phil

There comes a time in life when even the most caring and giving people of the world have tragedy or misfortune come their way. We have one of our own that has been dealing with health issues since 2008.
Prima’s husband Phil went into the hospital back in 2008 for a simple hernia surgery. The surgery caused an infection, which caused Phil to be in and out of the CHW for months. The doctors couldn’t get the infection under control at CHW, so he was transferred to UCD in early 2009.
The doctors at UCD attempted to understand and get the infection to subside to no avail. In 2010 Phil had to have his bladder removed due to infection. At the same time Phil was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, and Prima was diagnosed with breast Cancer shortly after.
In 2011 Phil had to have his left Kidney removed as the infection continued to devastate his body. Prima went through many sessions of chemo and is now in remission since 2013. Phil however is still fighting his infection. Phil has been in and out of the hospital since 2008 fighting for a cure for the infection that is destroying his body.
Currently Phil is in the hospital dealing with the aftermath of his most recent kidney surgery. Although the Kidney surgery went well, Phil has developed blood clots. The clots are in his pelvis, legs, and arms. As of today the doctors have been unsuccessful in getting the clots to dissolve. Phil is weak, but fighting to get better. The hospital and medical company are pushing Phil out of the hospital as they feel there is nothing more that can be done for him. They are pushing him to a care home that is demanding 20% down, prior to admitting him. We are attempting to raise as much money as possible to help these two giving and loving family members.
