We are an independent organization that does not belong to the local council, and therefore is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the properties we occupy and the functions of a non-profit organization.

· We have a significant range of activities that could suite most volunteer interests, aptitudes and skills, which include but are not limited to; administration, artifact and book archiving, cemetery maintenance and supervision, docent (bus, walking or house tour guide) event planning, event and craft reenactment, exhibit design, fundraising, gardening, genealogy research, historical research, merchandise sales, museum curation and maintenance and upgrade of two unique and historic properties.

· We are the only property open regularly on at least 6 days of the month, creating a community that shares stories and experiences and provides emotional support and a shared purpose to folks wanting to learn about our local history and contribute to a civic narrative.
