Pregnant Burn Victim Medical Emergency

Dear Humble Friends, my childhood friend Amina was involved in a tragic house fire accident in her home in Sri Lanka. Our families have known each other for three generations. Our connection knows no bounds. Therefore, I am compelled to help my beautiful friend, a wife, mother to an 8-year-old boy and now pregnant with twins - recover from this tragic accident.

Currently, in Sri Lanka, Dengue Fever is rampant. And it is common practice in households to ward off mosquitoes using Sambrani/ Loban (benzoin resin) - a medicinal incense burned over charcoal using Kerosene oil. Kerosene oil is found in Sri Lankan homes as fuel for light, heat and power. Unfortunately, due to the dire economic crisis in Sri Lanka, there is no kerosene oil supply. As a result, people have succumbed to fueling their fires at home with petrol.

On Sunday, 7 August 2022, Amina, who is 8 months pregnant with twins, decides to burn some incense to ward off mosquitoes within the home. So, she starts to light a fire outside her room on the balcony. She began to drop a little petrol onto the charcoal, but a spark of fire startled her, and she dropped the whole bottle of petrol she held in her hands into the fire.

Amina now suffers from 3rd, and 4th degree burns to her face and body -including her tummy holding her twins. She is in ICU and is currently in critical condition.

Amina's body carries 3 beautiful souls. She is due to deliver her twins in September 2022.

Dear friends, I plead, let us help Anima be able to hold her babies. Let's help her recover so she can come home to her son, husband and family.

All proceeds go directly towards Anima's medical costs, recovery and care for when she returns home.
