Basel to Frankfurt by bike for Kinderkrebshilfe CH

It's time to take the fight against cancer from the lab to the roads again! Inspired by the earlier participation of colleagues at a bike ride fundraiser in 2019, we, a group of 15 Roche cancer researchers, will ride from Basel to Frankfurt am Main to our all-hands meeting. It will be a 350km cycling journey over three days starting on September 24th - all to the benefits of Kinderkrebshilfe Schweiz (childhood cancer support Switzerland).

Around 350 children and adolescents are diagnosed with childhood cancers per year in Switzerland. 80% of these cancers can be cured due to medical achievements made over the last decades. However, one child per week still dies of cancer in Switzerland, and the diagnosis significantly impacts the lives of the children and their families. Childhood cancer support Switzerland helps those affected by organizing vacation camps and events as well as providing financial and psychological aid.
