Pray For Sebi

Hello, My name is Ashley and I am a friend of Mireya Rodriguez and her family.  I am starting a gofundme for Mireya, her family, and her son Sebastian because they are currently in the midst of a crisis.

On Tuesday December 8th, at approximately 4:00 PM  this families lives were forever changed when 14 month old Sebastian wandered outside and into the back yard of their home in Simi Valley, California. Sebastian's curiosity led him to the pool in the back yard, where he fell and remained until found by his cousin. Sebastian was immediately given CPR and emergency services were called promptly. 


When the ambulance arrived, Sebastian was not responsive and without breath or a heartbeat. He was immediately escorted to Simi Valley Hospital where they restored his heart and breathing. 

He remained in critical condition and was transferred to Northridge Hospital that night by helicopter. On Wednesday, Northridge had him in stable critical condition, however he was still not responsive and on a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own. 

Sebastian's initial prognosis was very grim, and left all that heard with sadness in their hearts. 
We all quickly realized that this wasn't just a bad dream, but that this was a living nightmare. This actually happened – to this sweet baby boy. This happened to someone we know, to someone we love, to a family who is gracious, who are humble, and who would do anything for anyone at any time. 

As the day dragged on, and everyone was anxiously waiting for updates on Sebastian, a small miracle occurred. at 9:00 PM on Wednesday night; Mireya, his mother, was playing him music and his feet started to move, and his eye lids began to flutter.  A sign of hope was given by this small angel laying in his hospital bed.

Kaiser requested he be transferred to their Hollywood facility via Ambulance on Thursday, Sebastian remained in critical, but stable condition. Upon his arrival at Kaiser- his numbers looked promising. He is currently under their close watch in the pediatric intensive care unit at this time. 

I had the opportunity to visit the family, and see Sebastian on Thursday Evening. Mireya asked me to move his blanket to cover him, when I moved the blanket to fully cover his little body, he stretched his legs, and tried to open his eyes. More signs.  Mireya advised that he had been moving much more on Thursday. More miracles.

At around 10:00 PM on Thursday, Sebastian was admitted for a CT scan.

We are currently awaiting results of this scan to assess his needs and the needs of the family.

This fundraiser is to assist the family with the medical bills and needs during this difficult time.

This fundraiser it to raise awareness to everyone everywhere of how precious life is and how quickly our lives can change.

Tragedy does not discriminate; Sebastian is a beautiful baby boy who is always smiling, laughing, dancing, and bringing joy and love to everyone he encounters.
