Prayers for Leland

Donation protected
We would like to start by saying THANK YOU to all of our friends, family, and our amazing community for the over pour of prayers, positive thoughts, messages, phone calls, LOVE to our family and to our precious Leland.
The overflow of continued love has literally brought us to tears and has helped keep us stronger when we are weak and broken.
We have had many people reach out encouraging for us to create a GoFundMe. First those who know us understand that Josh and I will work ourselves till we drop before asking for help. That is just how we are. With the over flow of kind messages encouraging us to please set up a GoFundMe we have. Please know we appreciate your prayers and continued support and don't feel obligated please in anyway. We just want our baby boy to be healthy!!! We love each of you who have just shown our family such compassion during this time.
It has been a very emotional, draining, frightening, hopeless time. And by far our hardest thing we have had to go through as parents.
Please allow me to copy our posts from our Facebook which is up until now.

To recap Leland had previously suffered from RSV which caused his asthma to exaccerbate. He was admitted to the hospital as his oxygen levels could not be increased above 80 even with them giving him 10ml  of oxygen via masks, nose. He was our family's Christmas present and was discharged on Christmas after spending 5 days in hospital. A few days later he had a follow up with his doctors office to check on his lungs from the recent RSV. During our visit his lungs sounded clear, and his oxygen was reading 99 percent. During this visit the Dr had asked if Leland had his Flu shot, he had not. I shared my concern with if that would even be a good idea since he was just getting through RSV which affected his lungs to a scary state. I was reassured by the Dr that it's not a live virus and he would be just fine.
He was given the shot last Saturday during his 930 appt. By 230 pm that same day he started walking a little different. He progressively got worse. Saturday before that appt our boy was himself, he was running circles around us feeling back to his old self. By Sunday he was taken in to Er. His white blood CT was at 48,000 when was told normal for his age is 12. The Dr could not find out why and  sentus home! Instructed us to wait 48 hrs and come.back if continued. Even with the prescribed hydrocodone he was in pain all that night. No way was I waiting 48 hrs. Returned Sunday and he was admitted. Sunday he couldn't even walk!! That's how quickly this progressed for our precious boy.

Dec 31. Shop will be closing immediately. Son is in hospital again with mom. Sorry for inconvenience.

Thank you for all the prayers. Our little guy has had a rough go. He was just getting back to 100% after rsv and 5 nights in the hospital last week. He came home on Christmas day. He had a check up Saturday. He got a flu shot on Saturday and later that night started limping on that leg. No big deal. It can cause aches and pains. Sunday morning he could barely get out of bed but ultimately started getting around but with a slight limp. Monday morning he couldn't get out of bed. Made a trip to ER again where they couldn't find anything wrong. Ran some tests and eventually sent us home. Today he has been complaining of his foot hurting. Wont move his leg let alone walk. MRI showed he has a septic joint and now awaiting from ortho surgeon to see what the plan of action is. We'll keep you posted

We can't express enough how much it all means to us. Looks like our little guy will be here a couple weeks for monitoring. He will have another surgery on his ankle joint tomorrow. It's been a tough go but he is such a trooper. They gave him a sweet view of the city too. He likes it :) got to see the firework show from his room yesterday.

Thank you for all the continued support and prayers for our baby boy Leland.
This is by far the hardest thing we have went through and we have a long hill battle still at this point.
We have had so far ups n downs. Where we thought things were in the direction going well to set backs.
For those who have been following Leland had to have surgery on his ankle due to a Septic Joint. We were told pretty shortly after that he was going to need a 2nd surgery, this happened yesterday.
During his surgery the medical staff told me the redness which started on the top of his foot was moving up his leg little over his knee. In order to help they had to do a 2nd incision to his shin to release the pressure and help drain the infection.
Both are bandaged but open with drains on each side.
Spoke with one of the many doctors included to help Leland and what the concern at this point is Leland's infection is in his blood stream. They can't know if the infection started in his blood stream and went to his joint , or started in his joint and went to his bloodstream. The infection he has is a very scary one and can lead to sepsis. For a child his age normal white blood cell count is 12 they said. When he was first seen his white blood cell ct was 48,000. The last white blood cell count went down to 42,000. Since his blood cell ct is not close to where it needs to be they didn't want to continue and pull and use unnecessary blood Right now so they are doing cultures every 2 days till infection is gone. They had to place a pick line in. This is a tiny material but long that goes from the inside of his arm and connects to his chest heart .:(Right now our newest scare, concern in speaking with the Dr she said the infection can spread to other areas of Leland's body. Their immediate concern is if it has spread to his heart, heart vessels. You can imagine the fear, shock, everything.
While he was in surgery they did an echo ekg and we are suppose to get results today.
But at this stage where he is just right now at minimum he will have Iv antibiotics for 1 month, followed by occupational and physical therapy to get him to walk again, followed by numerous visits to other specialist drs.
At this point we know he will have at the minimum one other surgery so (3) at the very minimum but they were upfront that their is likely he will have a couple more.
I'm sure I might be missing some things since mommy n daddy have not slept but the most important info is stated above.
He is so brave, even when he says he is not brave he's scared he is so very brave. He has been our support when we have been weak and frightened. Right now we just want our baby running playing driving us bonkers !!! We would trade any to have this right now
:(
We talked about what he wants to do when we get out. He wants to have a pizza party. This boy loves his pizza (not hospital pizza pewww lol ). Told him how pizzapipeline nhas the huge collassal and he licked his lips.
Daddy brought him surprised toys last night And the pic with toys was just right now :)he finally asked for me to put the light on when he has not wanted it on.
Last night was better for his pain as the nurses have him on medicines to try and control it overlapping as best as possible.
It was good to see him actually sitting up and being present other then just laying not wanting to try anything. It was great to see that spunky spirit for a good while.
Please continue to pray if your the praying kind, or wishing positive energy for Leland.
Right now we are holding our breaths for the reading from the cardiologist. We don't need anymore battles then his precious body is facing.
We love you all !!

Update we are still waiting for the reading of his heart . Please pray or have positive thoughts for it not to be!! Holding breath till then.
