Update from Nicole 2/6/2026

McKenna continues to make progress, even if it comes in baby steps. Right now, those baby steps feel like miracles. She is up to 12 continuous steps and she’s able to stay awake a little longer each day. Watching her fight for every small gain is both humbling and overwhelming.

Her tongue has healed, and she’s been able to eat regular food again, which feels like such a gift after everything she’s endured. While we are so grateful for how far she’s come, she is still facing big challenges, especially with dizziness, light sensitivity, and debilitating migraines. Some days are harder than others, but she keeps pushing forward with incredible strength.

Please continue to pray for my baby for healing, comfort, and endurance. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through prayers, kindness, and generosity. We truly could not walk this road without you. #teamkenna

Update from McKenna:
As most of y’all know, I was recently involved in a very serious car accident with an 18-wheeler. I am incredibly lucky to be alive. I have a broken collarbone, a broken foot, cuts and bruises all over my face and body, and a brain bleed, but despite all of that, I am beyond grateful to still be here. I’ve officially been moved out of the ICU and am still in the hospital, continuing to heal.

My story isn’t done yet. I still plan to go to college as long as finances allow and one day help special education kids, and I will return to the daycare job I love so much when I’m able.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has visited me, checked in, prayed for me, and sent gifts or donations. The love and support means more to me than I can put into words.

Most of all, thank you God, and thank you to the nurses and doctors who worked so hard to keep me alive. I am truly blessed.

McKenna’s Story

As you may have heard, our sweet McKenna was in a major accident involving a semi early Friday morning less then a mile from her home in Rockwall, TX. McKenna is currently in the ICU suffering from a brain injury that is being closely monitored by her medical team. While she has several other injuries, they are minor in comparison—right now the primary focus is healing from her brain injury and managing her pain. There is no doubt a very long road to recovery ahead.

McKenna is a bright 18-year-old who is deeply loved by her family, friends, and community. She is an amazing friend, sister, daughter, niece, and grandbaby, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Her family and friends are praying continually for God’s protection and care over her, and for a full recovery with no lasting effects.

At this time, we do not know how long she will need to remain in the hospital, but we do know that Nicole has refused to leave her side and will continue to be by her side throughout this process. Nicole, an incredibly strong mom of two, has never ceased to amaze us with her strength and grit in caring for her girls. As a single mom, she supports McKenna and her little sister by providing a safe, loving, christian home and doing everything she can to create a beautiful life for them.

As McKenna begins her recovery, Nicole will need time away from work, which may create unexpected financial strain, along with significant medical expenses that will be coming during the next few months. We are inviting friends, family, and members of the community to donate toward medical costs and basic living expenses to help keep things steady at home, so Nicole can focus her attention where it is needed most.

Any contribution, big or small, would help lift some of the worry and give Nicole peace of mind during this difficult time. We know many of you have already been praying with us, and we humbly ask that you continue to lift McKenna up in prayer as she recovers.
