Helping the Foster family with lost wages, travel costs, and food expenses while away from home are just a few examples of what we are raising funds to help the family with,  Pam is out of paid time off this school year due to Josh's health.

This family goes above and beyond to help others and it is our turn to help them!  Every little bit will help.

This journey for Josh, a local 7 year old, (2nd grader) and the Foster family started on August 10th, 2017 when Josh had a sudden seizure that lasted about 30 minutes.  He was in pediatric ICU with the doctors tossing around the possibilities of a brain tumor, stroke, or inflammation. With lots of tests, scans, medicines, and even a brain biopsy, it was determined that Josh has a large unknown mass through his temporal lobe, eventually being diagnosed with vasculitis.

The neurologist informed Josh's parents, Mike and Pam, that the damage to Josh's brain is permanent, but to what extent, they don't know. They were finally able to get a referral to a children's hospital in St. Louis.   So with this diagnosis, the treatment was to be very regimented and expected to suppress his immune system. The best route for treatment was determined to be 2 years of chemotherapy.  In January 2018, the doctors wanted to start his new treatment to avoid regrowth of the mass. The plan is for Josh to go to St. Louis monthly for 6 months and then transition to a pill based chemotherapy. On January 9th, 2018 he had his first treatment! Things were looking good, he seemed to react well with the chemo and had minimal side effects.

Then on Saturday, January 27th, 2018, Josh had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital again due to another seizure. The doctors diagnosed him with influenza A, viral and bacterial sepsis. He suffered a 106-degree fever, he was a very sick little boy! Josh was intubated and continued having seizures. He was put on a ventilator and sedated to prevent more seizures.  MRI results show damage to the upper cortex of his left occipital, parietal, temporal, left and right frontal and right temporal lobes.

He could wake up, he could not, he may be impaired for life, he may not. What we do know is God is bigger than all of this and HE is in control. Please join us in praying hard for this amazing little boy and his family.
