Pranay, who is one of my friend, is an active 23-year-old boy, who works at a local seed production company in his village. He is the only child of his parents and he comes from a very poor and humble background. His father is a farmer, and both together work very hard to make both ends meet.
On November 27th, 2017, Pranay was returning home from work, when he was hit by a tractor. This accident resulted in severe internal injuries in the stomach and abdominal area, and was brought to Hyderabad for treatment. Initially, the doctors thought it was a fractured bone and kept him under observation for 48 hours. Slowly they found his stomach bloating and upon further examination, they found that Pranay’s intestine has been ruptured and the poison has already spread considerably. They immediately shifted him to the ICU, where his condition was critical until December 6th, after which he started showing some improvement. He already underwent multiple stomach surgeries and there is one surgery scheduled in January end.
This traumatic incident has resulted in significant emotional hardship for Pranay’s family. In addition to that, the stay in the ICU, and the ongoing medical treatment is proving to be heavy on the family. As of December 8th, the medical bills have already crossed 600,000 INR. Additionally, 600,000 INR more is estimated for further treatment. Farmers sacrifice a lot for the society and it is very little that they get back from the society. We are hoping that we can give the family back some help in terms of monetary assistance for paying the medical bills in this time of need. Please donate whatever you can for this cause.
