Update 4/27:
Thanks to your generous donations and the commitment of our volunteers, we've delivered over a thousand face shields to local Jersey City hospitals and have grown our volunteer community to over 50! Our printing capacity continues to grow and we are looking to manufacture these face shields via injection molding in the coming weeks.
This will allow us to scale up quickly to fill the PPE needs of our hospital works, first responders and other vulnerable communities. In order to be able to manufacture these shields, we'll need to raise additional funds.

Our Story:
Jersey City has been greatly impacted by COVID-19. Our hospitals are over-run and do not have the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needed to safely treat patients.
We have organized a local group of makers and volunteers to help 3D print face shields, manufacture face shields via injection molding and distribute these shields to our local hospitals and first responders.
Today, we are leveraging a network of local volunteers who have 3D printers, laser cutters to make face shields/masks. In parallel, we are working with local manufacturers and sellers across the nation to manufacture and source PPE at scale.
Donations allow us to get more materials to produce face shields TODAY (on track to produce 1k/week). They will also help us manufacture face shields in bulk over the coming weeks.
All donations will go to the following:
- PLA Filament for 3D printers
- 3D printers
- Elastic for face shields
- Plastic sheets for face shields
- Cost of manufacturing face shields at scale via injection molding
- Cost to source ready-made PPE
- Distribution costs
Today we are coordinating with Jersey City Medical Center and Christ Hospital- with hopes to expand this as we scale.
We are a 100% volunteer led group and we are relying on the support of our community to help our local #HealthcareHeros.

Who are we?
We are ~25 volunteers and makers in the Jersey City area who are teaming up to produce and distribute this PPE to local hospitals in need. All of our production is done locally.
What are we making?
There are several designs that have been developed by the maker community in partnership with doctors and governments. We are currently producing and distributing the Prusa face shields, which has been vetted by the Czech government. We are also testing production of the Verkstan face shields.

Currently we are 100% self funded. But the need of our city is much greater than what we can provide leveraging print farms alone. Raising this money will allow us to continue to grow our community of makers, while also producing these masks in bulk with manufacturers.
