Powerchair football nationals
My name is Tom Latcham. I'm 27 and I have duchenne muscular dystrophy, which means I use a powerchair for my everyday mobility.
However, I love sport and I am passionate about Powerchair Football. I have competed at state level on numerous occasions, most recently as part of the victorious 2016 Queensland side. I have been selected for this year's nationals competition in Sydney this October, but unfortunately it is highly expensive and more than I can afford. We receive no sponsorship or funding for our sport.
Because of my condition, I can only stay in wheelchair accessible rooms which are only available at higher-end hotels. I also require 24 hr care which means I have to pay accomodation, travel and wages for a disability support worker to care for me on top of my own expenses.
I respectfully ask for any support, no matter how small! I'll be forever appreciative.
