Power Bill Fund for Pelham’s Sarris Cafe

One of Pelham’s favorite restaurants, Sarris Cafe, has had to temporarily close its doors. Covid restrictions have caused a hardship on restaurants, especially when it comes to small businesses, and Sarris Cafe has been no exception. 

Unfortunately there was an oversight at the power company. The restaurant, who’s power bill runs anywhere from $4,000 to $5,000 a month, wasn’t able to keep their payments current due to business being slowed down drastically from covid and got several months behind on their power bill. Unknown by the owners, contact was supposed to be made by the power company concerning a payment plan to keep the power on, and that contact was never made. The supervisor they spoke with after the fact wouldn’t budge. It was all or nothing.

Sarris Cafe has been in Pelham for 17 years and remains in the family of the original owner. Brothers Nick and Chris Sarris, the current owners, have put their hearts and souls into this restaurant and this oversight by the power company has caused them to have to close their doors until the power company can be paid in full. 

This business means so much to so many people. It is the lively hood of many family’s. Any donations you can make will go to the business to help be able to turn the power back on.
