Education and business initiatives

After seeing firsthand the extreme poverty and hoplessness of the dump-site communities outside Manila (Philippines) in early 2015, I could never be the same.
Using up a line of credit on our mortgage, and my transition super, along with all our disposible income, my wife and I have thrown ourselves into the world of the precious forgotten folk who make their existence scavenging off the dump mountain rubbish in Payatas and Montalban.
Presently we provide emergency food packs to over 190 families each week, while we (through our partners) give a meal to over 1000 children each week. Medical supplies and advice, recycled clothing, and emergency funds for struggling families are all available weekly.
But we want to address the next generation. We are chosing one child out of the neediest families to receive an education, while we seek to set the parents up with a simple business so they can provide a culture of hope and sufficiency to their children. We are also in the process of starting a building trade school for unemployed youth.
