PortArthurNews OrangeLeader Staff

This campaign is to provide to Boone Newspapers employees, friends and associates a method to give money to benefit employees of The Port Arthur News and The Orange Leader, all of whom are victims of flooding caused by Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey.

No staff member was spared personal property damage and all need our help.

Many in our organization have asked how they could donate directly.  The purpose of this campaign is to provide a simple route to get your donations to staff members.

Funds raised will be administered by Port Arthur publisher Rich Macke, Orange publisher Bobby Tingle and Boone Newspapers CEO Todd Carpenter.

First steps will be to help with immediate and basic needs of employees, then to aid in recovery and restoration of housekeeping when the time comes for each employee to take that step.

The sole purpose of this fund is to aid staff members and the sole use of proceeds will be to aid and support staff.

Additional substantial donations designated to take care of and support our employees are planned by the Boone Foundation and Carpenter Newsmedia.

Your outpouring of support and interest in helping is heartwarming and appreciated.  We pledge to stick with each employee until the dislodged pieces of their lives are put back in place.

-- Todd Carpenter, CEO, Boone Newspapers, Inc.
