Poptart’s Medical Bills

Poptart has been my shadow for half of my life. She knows when it’s time for breakfast, she greets me at the door when I come home, and she knows when I need some snuggles after a rough day.

A couple of weeks ago she started vomiting and acting not so much like herself. I took her to the first vet that would see her. The vet noted that she has lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks. She ran a full blood panel and urinalysis. Poptart was given fluids and anti-nausea medications at the office. Poptart’s labs came back normal, but the vet is looking at other diagnostic tools to explain her symptoms.

The vet believes Poptart may have an intestinal disease that is causing her to lose weight, preventing her from absorbing necessary nutrients from her food, and making her vomit. The vet sent me literature about inflammatory bowel disease in cats and how it could result in lymphoma if treatment is delayed, or the symptoms are realized too late.

We won’t know for sure what is wrong with Poptart until she receives an abdominal ultrasound and chest scans. The bill for her first visit was hundreds of dollars and I can only imagine how much scans would amount to be. I am prepared to do whatever it takes to diagnose Poptart and take the necessary steps afterwards to ensure her healthiness and happiness.

The money earned from this fundraiser will go directly towards Poptart’s bill for her imaging. Any excess funds will go towards aftercare that may be needed such as supplements, follow up visits, or medications.
