Poorly Treated Boxer Puppy

Donation protected

Hi All,

For starters I want to say thank you. Thank you for being these animals voices. It’s their time to finally be heard!

While working in Greensboro the week of 10/19 I stopped by a dog store named Friendly Pets in the friendly center. To my utter shock they sell puppies of all breeds at this store. There are probably anywhere from at least 30-40 puppies at this location.

Unfortunately, these puppies are being marketed at astronomical prices and they’re not worth what they are trying to be sold. If this pet store was truly about finding a right home for animals these prices would not be marked as high.

When walking into this store you will notice that there are 2-3 puppies in a 2x4 glass cage. No toys, blankets, or treats. There is a lack of airflow in each cage. There’s feces and urine in cages. I personally witnessed a staff member slap a puppy in the face for not getting out of the way. These animals are not being properly taken care of.

First time I walked in there I noticed a female boxer. Growing up with boxers and also currently owning one I know the breed incredibly well. I asked the sales associate to see the puppy and they let me have her in a “room”. This dogs tail was not docked properly and has a skin rash and unhealed skin on its tail. Her nails haven’t been cut. She is being treated for worms and they said that a vet hasn’t seen her since she’s entered the store. Which was beginning of October. Essentially for 3 weeks this dog at a young age has not been seen by a vet.

You can notice she’s too skinny for how tall she is. You can see her ribs. She needs to be fed more. Another day I went I was able to stay while this boxer puppy was being fed and they did not give her the proper amount of food. This boxer puppy is smaller than what she actually should be.

I went 4 times to this store between Thursday-Friday and each time for a minimum of an hour. Not once did I see any of these animals taken out of cages to be played with or out for a walk. No dog should be in these conditions. They need a yard to play in and a family to be loved by.

If you take the time to look up yelp and google reviews they have such poor ratings for years on how they treat their animals. Places like this should not be open, it’s inhumane. (Attached are some reviews)

It breaks my heart that these dogs are in such poor care. I am starting a petition to shut this place down, calling animal control and leaving reviews.

I’m starting a gofundme by trying to safe a life, donations will go towards the purchase of the female boxer so she can go to a loving home. Any extra proceeds will either be given to South Charlotte Dog Rescue or in purchasing another puppy until he/she gets adopted.

Thank you so much for your time and donation.
