Precious Polly Petersen was born Oct. 16th at Cook Children's Hospital to Joe and Katie Petersen. She is their 3rd beautiful redheaded child, but Polly has started life out differently.
She's a beautiful and alert child that lights up when she see's her mother and father! Unfortunately Polly has never left Cooks as she was born with congenital heart defects that have to be repaired with Open Heart Surgery. There are two parts to the surgery. The first is the actual repair of her heart chambers and the second focus will be to work in an area behind her heart to improve her breathing issues. Polly is scheduled for today, January 9th at 8am. Please pray for Polly, her family and her surgeons, nurses and staff.
Katie had serious complications from birth, was hospitalized for a week and was rushed back for emergency surgery the very day she was released to go home to her other 2 children. Thankfully she is fine but still recovering from surgery. She might say that the most challenging part was being seperated from her baby while they were in 2 different hospitals, unable to see each other, except for the rare exception, for weeks.
This has been a very challenging time in their lives but they are trusting in the Lord and in all of his promises! They will tell you that they are scared at times but have also experienced numerous miracles during this time. They feel your prayers and God's presence and for that they are eternally grateful!

equipping Christian leaders with Biblical guidance and support. They do not have traditional insurance but they do have MediShare. However, the expenses far outweigh what is reasonable and expected as they have reached over $1 million and are still climbing.
