Police shot my dog. Need help !

I don't know what else to do. I feel so bad for my puppy. I need help to get her a surgery. She only barked to protect me and this police man had no reason to shoot his gun. He tried to kill her for no reason. Only cowardice and fear.They came in my front yard ...inside my gate..knocked on the door.. and you can hear her barking so why stand there if you hear the dog!! He needs to have his gun taken from him. He nearly shot me if wasnt for her being between me and the gun. Please share and help however you can .
