Police Officer flooded by Florence

Donation protected
Mike Harmon is the Chief of Police of Aurora, North Carolina; a small town of about 500 residents in Beaufort County.  Residing along the Neuse River in Oriental, Mike’s 100 year old home next to Green Creek suffered significant damage from the winds and storm surge from Hurricane Florence.

As Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina, water from the Pamlico Sound flooded New Bern, Oriental, and other communities along to sound.  Water levels in Mike’s garage was 20 inches while standing water inside the house stood at 6 inches.  In the flood Mike, lost three cars, a motorcycle and all appliances on the ground floor of the house.

Mike has been in law enforcement since 2002 and spent 30 months as an international police advisor in Afghanistan’s Balkh and Patika Province with DynCorp International.  While the property is insured, the deductible still must be met.  We are raising this money to offset the cost of the $5,000 deductible.  Any contribution would be appreciated.
