Pokey's Final Vet Bill

My Pokey passed away on 2/2/18. On 2/1/18, Pokey went into respiratory distress. I rushed her to the emergency room that evening and she had a lot of fluid in her lungs.  The Vet kept her overnight in an oxygen chamber and started treating her for heart failure. She improved slightly overnight, however the next morning, her kidneys and liver starting shutting down. There was nothing we could do for her, and her health was declining. I made the decision to end her suffering. Pokey died in my arms surrounded by my love and kisses.

I found Pokey when she was 5 months old in 1999. She has been by my side for 19 years. She was my bedtime buddy and would jump up into bed the minute I laid down. I would pet her until I fell asleep. There were many sleepless nights, where I would just pet her and hear her purring. I miss her deeply and still figuring out what do without her.

Unfortunately I did not have pet insurance on Pokey. With her sudden passing, I find myself needing help with her final bill. I am still in the process of paying off Ayla’s vet bills (my copay and what insurance didn’t cover). With those bills, and some unplanned house repairs, I have depleted my savings.
