Amanda needs your help!!

Good morning everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my story, donating, and/or sharing. My story and the reason I need help: On June 3, 2020, I left my ex-partner due to years of domestic violence. Before I continue, I need to say that certain details of my story will not be disclosed due to the legalities surrounding my story, and for me and my children’s safety. This summer, I was granted a temporary Protection From Abuse restraining order from him. I was not granted the “permanent” order. As my legal team explained to me, some of the criteria were met, but not all. The “definition of abuse is narrowly defined by the law” is a phrase I would rather forget and it’s no surprise that the justice system is majorly flawed and failing me and my kids. I have my daughter with me now thankfully and I am in the throes of a legal battle as far as custody is concerned, with my son.

I have been stalked, harassed, threatened, and severely traumatized by his behaviors and actions. I am homeless as well and without a vehicle. My ex got married in September to a woman I can only describe as being dangerous. I say that she is dangerous because I was ambushed and assaulted by her on November 1st. My ex was an accomplice in this attack although I cannot go into details about how he was involved. I was pepper-sprayed and attacked and needed to be hospitalized. I cannot discuss the details of this attack as there is currently an active investigation and I am pressing charges. Me and my son have both been granted a Protection From Harassment against her. As a result of this attack, I have had to miss several days of work to recover from my injuries. I am asking for financial help because of all of these facts. The money I raise will go toward legal fee costs, obtaining housing, obtaining a vehicle, clothing, personal items, and food.

I had to take a semester off of college as well due to not only my story, but because of the ongoing pandemic. I am a Human Services student. I wish I could share more details but I simply cannot. I truly can’t wait to rebuild my life, earn my degree, and help others who find themselves in the exact shoes I wear today. It has taken me months to work up the courage to even ask for help. Things I post on social media seem to get back to my ex, but at this point in my life that is a risk, I have to take due to the urgency of my situation. In closing, I would just like to say I am beyond grateful for any assistance I receive and I thank you for your time and efforts.
