My daughter Lindsey was diagnosed with AML leukemia on Oct. 30th, 2017. This was devasting news for her and our family. She was feeling really rundown and had routine blookwork done. The next day her Dr. called her with the news to go straight to the local ER. Her blood counts were at a very low level. The next day she was taken to Columbus Ohio to The James Cancer hospital where she had a bone marrow biopsy to determine what was happening to her body. It was a long two weeks waiting on the results for all the genetics testing ect. She was diagnosed with AML leukemia. What a shock. She’s 32, married with an 8yr old daughter. How does this happen? Nothing anyone really ever expects to Hear. She has gone through chemo and they are waiting on her blood counts to recover so she can go home for a short time until they get everything set up for a bone marrow transplant in the near future. She will have a bone marrow biopsy a week after she gets out in Columbus to see if she is in remission. Bone marrow transplant will be two more months in Columbus... Plus numerous trips back and forth to The hospital. I’ve been staying with her and will continue to be her caregiver. I Wouldn’t have it any other way she’s my daughter and best friend!! She is the most generous, kind, and special person I know. She is my hero. She is facing this with bravery and courage knowing it’s not going to be an easy road. She will have many medical bills, housing bills when in Columbus and expenses from meds, and travel back and forth to Columbus. This won’t be easy. Her daughter has had to change schools which will be an added expense. I just thought if she could have some of the financial burdens lifted it will be one less worry for her family. As of this time her husband is trying to keep working while I’m here with her in Columbus but winter is coming and his work can be seasonal. This is not easy to ask for help from others but God provides for us and this may be a way he uses to help us get through this.
