ABOUT US: We are QueendomCome, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Organization for girls ages 12-21 that provides year-round character, social and creative arts programs that are designed to highlight their self-worth, boost their confidence, and encourage healthy social activities. Our programs provide an environment of experimentation and self-expression where girls are offered creative outlets for the practice, growth and development of their individual and collective interests. KingdomCome, a division of QueendomCome, Inc. mirrors the programs and activities of QueendomCome, Inc., with gender-specific programs for boys.
OUR GOAL: To build and empower the communities we serve by building and empowering our youth.
WHAT: QueendomCome, Inc. character development and life skills workshops are designed for girls ages 12-21 who live in underserved communities across the globe. QueendomCome, Inc. programs normally provided in a group setting in Sanford, Florida and Jamaica, New York, are switching to a new platform available globally for online participation & enjoyment. Programs can be viewed from wherever you are via smart phone, tablet or computer. We offer a wide range of exclusive workshops and trainings on topics pertinent to girls on the verge of womanhood and, provide platforms where they can ask questions, receive feedback and, benefit from interactions with professionals in their field. Our interactive one-of-a-kind programs are led by professionals who have a passion for teaching what they know, sharing their experiences and providing good instruction and advice on real life topics and situations.
WHY: We are an organization founded by women with the desire to use our lives to make a positive difference in the lives of other women and girls. There is a great need for gender-specific programs for girls across the globe. Statistically speaking, “44% of high school girls suffer from low self-esteem and body issues, 7 in 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way and, the top wish amongst most teen girls is more frequent, open conversations”. At QueendomCome, Inc. we strive to help girls achieve their highest potential for self-attainment, satisfaction and success and, we address their specific needs by:
· Providing programs during times they might otherwise engage in antisocial and destructive behaviors
· Allowing opportunity to confront, challenge and change negative stereotypes of women and girls
· Offering life-skills programs and workshops that add to the quality of their personal development and more.
COVID-19 HELP: In addition to the coronavirus being a crisis that has most of the world practicing social distancing, there is a very real thing going on that affects us all in different ways. According to The New York Times, “research suggests that those in lower economic strata are likelier to catch the disease. They are also likelier to die from it. And, even for those who remain healthy, they are likelier to suffer loss of income or healthcare as a result of quarantines and other measures.” As if the article couldn’t get any worse, it goes on to say that “in an epidemic, poverty and inequality can exasperate rates of transmission and mortality for everyone.” We don’t embrace that energy, we don’t wish those facts on anyone, but we do understand statistics and how they can be confusing and even scary. We know that urban stats can sometimes turn into rumors which sometimes morph into urban legends. We don’t think there has ever been a time in our history where it was more important to speak truth, love, light, hope & joy directly to each other on a consistent basis. Our girls deserve better than scary news and urban myths, they need facts, they need a sense of community that holds promise and, they need to have fun. Please help us keep our program alive during this time of crisis. It is our desire to keep our girls enlightened, engaged and entertained despite the chaos they see around them… during the outbreak and beyond.
PLEASE HELP US IF YOU CAN: Many of our instructors are single moms and freelancers (independent contractors) when you support our program you are also supporting individuals who are facing economic hardship during this trying time.
OUR FINANCIAL GOAL: Our financial goal for this program is $92,000. All donations are greatly appreciated and no donation is too small. As a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization, your donation to us is tax-deductible and will help us to be able to:
· Provide FREE, daily online youth-centered trainings and workshops
· Sponsor/reach as many as 1,000 at-risk youth daily
· Purchase/maintain equipment and supplies
· Cover staff/operating costs
Please do not allow girls from underserved communities to get caught up in the chaos of a global pandemic. Please help secure a daily outlet for self-enrichment that could be the best part of a girl’s day. We don’t think this is the time to drop the ball when it comes to our girls, please support this program today if you can. Our April/May programs are pending donations.
