James Robert Helms II (known as James, Robert, Bobo) is a strong, hardworking, and wonderful man. He is a husband to his loving wife Rebecca, a devoted father to his beautiful daughters Jamie & Savannah Jane. He is the SOLE provider for his family as an Independent Contractor installing and building bathrooms.
Just shy of his 40th birthday, Robert suffered a stroke. The blood clot hit the Mobility Center of the Brain. He is now partially paralyzed down his left side. He has been hospitalized since November 7 and facing a long road of recovery trying to get his left leg and arm to work again. In addition, he found that he suffers from diabetes (which caused the stroke), high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
This medical tragedy has left the family without an income and do not currently qualify for aid. The medical bills are crushing (already at $100,000+) and like many Americans, Robert is uninsured. His family is living every day with the pain and stress of watching him struggle to heal, to walk. In these times of need, they shouldn't have to worry about the roof over their heads or food on their table.
Until Robert can walk again, he is unable to provide the basic necessities for his family. Rebecca is searching for a job, but they have immediate family and childcare needs. They would never ask for help but we are here asking for them so we can keep the roof over their heads, some food on the table, gas to go back and forth, and the medical bills that are starting to pile up, until we can get them to their new daily norm.
