Please help save this sweet dog...

Cheyenne is the sweetest soul that ever lived. She loves every animal and every person she meets. Two weeks before Chritmas she lost her vision due to diabetes. She has cataracts in both eyes which has led to Gaulcoma.

For those of you unfamiliar with Claucoma, it is the blockage of the tiny veins that regulate the fluid inside the eyes. The pressure builds causing the eyes to expand and deform. It can become unbearably painful.

Cheyenne has been on Glaucoma meds since 12/22/14. The vet gave her a 20% chance that she would respond to the medication. I started this page that same day but didn't share it, hoping for the best.

Unfortunately, the medication isn't working. Yesterday afternoon (1/2/15)The canine eye Dr told me the she needs the removal of both eyes before her condition worsens. I don't have the kind of money required for surgery which means if I can't raise the money, I'll have no choice but to have her put down.

It's not her time to go. She has many years ahead of her to share her sweet spirit. This campaign is my only hope.

Don't let that wagon fool you, she's not too old. She'd run around all day if she could. Even after going blind she still LOVES to go on walks everyday, meet people and pee on everything possible. The wagon just helps ME get her around town faster.

Here she is on New Year's Eve at her favorite spot on the bay http://youtu.be/ED0YsW6OgX8

Swallowing my pride and asking for the generosity of others is the least I can do to try to help my dog. She's taken me through some rough times and I owe her everything.

I got Cheyenne 8 years ago at the same time my father was paralyzed from a condition called Guillianne Barre Syndrome. Without insurance to cover in-home nursing care, I had to quit working and move in with him to help him with his daily routine. Cheyenne was my best friend and support system for those 5 years of being a 24/7 caregiver.

I'm still trying to recover financially from those years of not working. I have an average job but I'm still a couple thousand in debt to friends and have maxed out my credit cards paying for Cheyenne's bills to this point.

The surgery itself should cost around $2400 with medication and follow-up visits. Anything beyond that would simply be a blessing to pay down the bills for her care already.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.  Please consider helping me save Cheyenne. If there was ever a dog that desereved it, it's her...
