Describe what happened to your pet or animal
Sadly, yesterday (17/09/2017) afternoon, after screaming out consistently and searching for 40hrs in our local area, I was distraught to find Blaze on our driveway, where she had clearly heard our voices and was making her way home. As I approached her I could see she wasn’t moving and was meowing in extreme pain and discomfort. I took her in my arms and cradled her, she looked into my eyes and I was heartbroken. I could feel a lump at the lower back of her spine and after running my hand down her back side I could feel something wasn’t right.
I needed to get her to a vet immediately, but one I could afford. Being a single parent, with health issues and other financial constraints, I’m unable to pay this amount right now. I’ve tried and contacted various institutions and organisations even the radio and followed up on every suggestion made, with no one willing to offer our Blaze a shot at life due to wanting money in advance.
I don’t qualify for a loan, I don’t qualify for Vet Pay, and I don’t qualify for credit cards. I basically can’t afford it in this present moment.
I’m despairing that the only option that was provided was euthanasia! This is NOT MY OPTION. I’m on a mission to do everything I can possibly do in my power to save our girl!
Detail what the funds will be used for
Upon referring her to Sydney University Veterinary, she was left in overnight, X-Rays performed discovered:
- Due to the amount of fractures in her pelvis, the surgeon confirmed she was hit by a car.
- Blaze’s pelvis is broken in a number of places, including top part of the femur.
- She needs to have a CT Scan to determine whether her urinary tract has been affected from the car accident
- She needs blood transfusions ASAP as she’s anaemic, and in order to get her into surgery soon.
- Hospital costs including pain relief, catheters etc
I’ve been quoted in person that this operation, surgery and healing recovery will cost $6,000.00. I will obtain a copy of this quote and upload here ASAP for those who need to see evidence.
We can’t believe our beloved Blaze was not only hit but left ALONE! She was microchipped and all the driver would’ve had to do was call RSPCA or take Blaze to the nearest vet and she would’ve been with us sooner to get the help and love from her family.

A deposit of $2,000 needs to be made immediately and the remaining paid within five days.
Talk about what your pet means to you
Blaze is our family fur baby we’ve had her for 6 years. Her previous owners, family friends of ours, were unable to take care of her and we could not find it in our hearts as animal lovers to see her go to a shelter home. I decided to make her part of our family of two! My daughter Madi was overwhelmed and ecstatic as this was her first pet! (Refer to Madi holding Blaze when she realised she is part of the family now –that smile!).
Blaze is the sweetest cuddler, her cuddles are the best thing to start our day.
As Blaze has grown up, she has continued to amaze us with her intelligence and hilarious temperament.
As a mother, I’m looking forward to watching Blaze and Madi, sleep, play, and grow up together, forever.
Blaze is funny and sweet and makes everyone smile constantly.
I just want everyone to know how much better life is with Blaze around, and how much more living we want to do together as a family.
Madi’s and my life would be incomplete without you Blaze. Every day is better because we always have you meowing into our smiling faces and wiggly your fluffy tail to come home to.
You’re quirky, clever and adorable.
You’ve never known neglect in your life and we could never imagine anyone ever treating you badly. You deserve a second chance. You are our dear are our forever girl. You are the best. But I still hate it when you drink from the toilet bowl and leave paw prints on the toilet seat.
She is the baby of the family –we don’t want to lose our baby.

Balze is a natural “doctor” having a sixth sense for sensing when we are under the weather, and comes near us to comfort and support.
Blaze is completely dependant on us for her survival, which creates an added level of guilt if she dies because of money.
