On May 24, 2017 her world was shatterered when she learned her Best friend, Soul Mate, Husband and Father to her 10 year old Daughter Ashley, was tragically killed in a car accident along with two very close friends and one survivor, also a very good friend
While dealing with the painful loss of Jody, Rhonda continued to work to support herself and Ashley
3 months later plagued by horrible pains in her side, Rhonda went to the emergency room in Elk Point. Doctors were unsure of what was going on so ran several tests in a very short period of time
During one of these tests doctors noticed lesions on her liver which then prompted them to dig further. On Sept. 11, 2017 Rhonda received the worst news anyone can receive. Stage 4 triple negative breast cancer metastasized to the liver. Her first thoughts upon hearing this were “how could I not know there was something happening to me”. Doctors response was”with this type of cancer and how quickly it spreads, 6 months ago may not of even shown up in a test”
Rhonda has had to leave her employment so she can receive chemo in hopes of slowing down or stopping the spread of cancer. Doctor’s prognosis is 2 years. She is fighting very hard to have extra time with Ashley
Depending on how her treatments go and what results she receives in December she is considering options outside of Canada
As we all know these treatments are very expensive and she could sure use some help from family, friends and community. If your able to donate a little or maybe alot it sure would be greatly appreciated and will be used in the best possible way to help Rhonda and Ashley in this huge fight. Any funds not used for treatments and cost of living will go to a trust fund for Ashley
