Please help Wendy Miller Poth relocate
Donation protected
My husband David and I have long been close friends with Wendy, who is in a difficult situation resulting from Hurricane Ian, which came ashore near her cottage. She depends on electricity for oxygen (COPD) 24/7 and for keeping her phone charged. Because she is blind, cellular service is her primary tool for communicating. Electricity -- and water -- have been out of service there since Ian.
When the hurricane struck, she had just settled into a furnished apartment in Port Charlotte. Extensive and long-term hurricane damage to the region's infrastructure was an immediate threat to her life, preventing her from taking more than a couple of suitcases with her in a hurried exit assisted by emergency services. She needs … well, everything … to help her resume her life relocated to Kansas City, a place familiar to her.
Wendy has been a professional counselor (LCSW) providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Her life has been dedicated to helping others. Her clients have thought so highly of her counseling skills that they often have asked her to talk by phone with their friends, which she has done gratis. Her clients have loved her, and she has loved them back.
Wendy is brilliant and quite able to care for herself under normal circumstances. All contributions received through a dedicated bank account are being provided to Wendy for housing, clothes, furnishings, and personal items. I hope you will join us in helping her gain a renewed sense of safety and peace from the trauma she has suffered.
