Please help us to give Lillo a chance

Lillo is a 7 years old Shetland mix who was rescued from being locked in a cage for the first few months of his life. He adores his people, he loves other animals and has many furry friends.  He certainly has not lost his will to live despite what he has been put through so much during the last months. 

Recently his health has taken a sharp turn for the worst and after many months of consulting we finally have our answer.
Our Lillo has been diagnosed with a condition called Cushings Syndrome, also known as hyperadrenocorticism. It requires complex diagnostic testing, treatment can be expensive and ongoing and also requires consistent monitoring.
   
Over the past weeks Lillo has been put through alot. Bood tests, LDDS tests , abdominal ultrasound, and there are still many have additional tests to run. The vet confirmed that he has a Pituitary tumor at the base of his brain. Surgery is not an option but he will need to be medicated for the rest of his life in addition to being followed several times a year for exams and  blood testing  to ensure that he is responding well to the recommended treatment and dosage. 

With proper treatment he can live as many years as he normally would and the medication will help eliminate most of the symptoms that are causing him to suffer.

We recently had a child and our family income has changed making it very difficult to afford. This treatment will cost over 1500$ per year not including the current testing which is costing another 2000$ or more.

We are reaching out to anyone that can help raise funds to help Lillo have a chance at a normal doggy life that he very much deserves. He was always such a happy and playful dog and we havent seen that side of him for quite some time due to his illness.
