Please Help us Support Amy!

As most of you know, my eldest sister Amy Watts, age 48, has been in the hospital which started out as Pneumonia but she was much sicker than she or anyone realized.

Back before Christmas, 2017, she was sick and running a high fever. She went to the doctor for medications and got better but never really got over it. On March 2, she left work and drove herself to Ft. Loudoun Medical center and was admitted. She was diagnosed with bi-lateral Pneumonia and was seriously ill to the point that she was in intensive care for 2 days with C.T. scans, X-rays, blood work, all being performed. On March 7th, she was transferred to Park West hospital for a more serious evaluation since treatment at Ft. Loudoun Medical center didn't have the facility or specialist's to treat the concerned spots on her lungs.

She had more tests done as listed above plus two biopsies, one with samples from the lung and the other was a scope down her esophagus The first biopsy didn't show any cancer and she was improving with the I.V. antibiotics.

On Wednesday of last week, the C.T. scan was repeated which showed no improvement after being on antibiotics for 10 days. That's when lung cancer was a concern.

On Monday, all doubt was removed and it was confirmed that Amy has Stage 4 lung cancer.

Treatment options are chemo-therapy and radiation. Some of you may know of her cancer history previously in the cervical area, radiated and got a clean bill of health.

Unfortunately, the previous cancer spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. . She had a port put in today to receive the treatments thru and may get to come home tomorrow or over the weekend. How well she responds to chemo and radiation will determine what quality of life she will enjoy and longevity. The attending Physicans has stated that she will be unable to return to work.

Her son, Trey, age 7 has been shielded from much of this, so we request that our friends and church family refrain from asking him about her condition. We feel it is best when Amy returns home to address this with him personally.

Your prayers have been felt, your kind words of encouragement are so appreciated. We are so blessed to have an extended family of friends. Our Hearts are saddened, Our faith is strong and desire for God's will to be done. We sincerely need your prayers as Mom and Dad, Amy, Becky and I will have some rough days ahead, but we acknowledge that our Lord and Savior will guide us through this journey. I will try to keep you posted on F.B. as time permits and again, THANK YOU for your support and prayers.
