PLEASE HELP! - TOM KENNEDY HAS A BRAIN HEMORRHAGE!

Hello, my name is Geoff Oates, and I'm starting this fundraiser for my friend, Thomas George Kennedy.

Most of my friends will know that Tom had to go into Hospital a long time ago, and I went to the Hospital every day, to help feed him, and save his life. Eventually, he was to be discharged, but the Hospital were worried about Tom, and they could not find any Next Of Kin. And so, I stepped in, and I told the Hospital that I would look after Tom, for two or three weeks, until he got back on his feet!!! That was a long time ago, 7 or 8 years ago, and Tom has been with me ever since.

I found a Lady to come and look after Tom and me, and eventually we became one big happy family. It became obvious that Tom was not able to be on his own, and so him and I pooled resources, and we obtained a large house where we all could live. Tom was happy with this arrangement, because he could sit in the Garden, which he loves, and even play with his wood working tools, although not to the degree which he wanted. He also liked to play in the garden with our pet cat, and tease her with tit bits!!!

Unfortunately, all of this has come to a stop, because just before Christmas, Tom had a fall on our Balcony, and hit his head quite hard on the floor. I was immediately concerned because he did not cry out for help, and I feared the worst. He had stopped breathing, and my Army training had taught me to remove anything blocking the air ways, and Tom had swallowed his Tongue! I was able to do something about that, and he gasped for air, thank good ness he was breathing again. We then called for the Ambulance to get him to the Emergency Hospital here in Bodrum.

Bodrum Hospital did a scan, and discovered that he had a Brain Hemorrhage. They had to remove him, again by Ambulance, to Mugla Hospital, which was 2 hours away.

Tom was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in Mugla Hospital, and after a few days he opened his eyes. Some improvement, thank goodness. Mugla Hospital then found him a location in the Bodrum I. C. U Department, and he was moved, again by Ambulance, back to Bodrum.

Tom is still in the Bodrum Intensive Care Unit on life support, and fortunately, 2 days ago, he opened his eyes. Although, the Doctors here have told me that this is a ''reflex action'' and there is a possibility that Tom may not survive! We certainly hope that this diagnosis is incorrect.

The problem is, Tom does NOT have Medical Insurance!

When he was in Acibadem Hospital, in Bodrum, he DID HAVE Medical Insurance! However, whilst he was still being treated, his Medical Insurance Cover EXPIRED!

The Acibadem Hospital wanted to charge Tom for his COMPLETE STAY!

I told the staff that Tom was ADMITTED to the Hospital WITH Insurance, and they should have spotted the fact that his Insurance had lapsed. We did a deal, that the Insurance Company would pay for half, if Tom paid for half, and also paid for his new Health Insurance Premium. This would then mean that Tom would continue to be covered by their Insurance. I agreed to this plan!

Typical of Insurance Companies, when I tried to pay Toms premium, the Insurance Company REFUSED to accept my Payment. Hence, Thomas now has NO HEALTH INSURANCE COVER.

The Hospital in Mugla have now decided to send me an Invoice for Toms stay in their I. C. U !!

It is COMPLETELY EXTORTIONATE and it is a WHOPPING 517,890 Turkish Lira.

Almost £13,000, - THIRTEEN THOUSAND BRITISH POUNDS!!!

Therefore, on behalf of Thomas George Kennedy, and myself, I am asking for any assistance you might be able to provide. I am sure that Thomas will appreciate it, and be grateful for all the help that he can receive. May the Good Lord bless every hand that gives, and remember, just a few pounds will make a big difference!
