Please help the Watvens rebuild their life

On Sunday August 22, 2021, my sister, Rachel, her husband James and their two sons (10 years old and 2 months old), lost absolutely everything they own in a fire that ravaged their family home in Carleton Place, ON.

Rachel is a self-employed small business owner who operates out of her home office, and is presently on a short maternity leave, as she had a baby a mere 2 months ago. James, also operates out of a home office, as many have had to do during the pandemic. They have both lost everything to be able to work, as well as a huge part of their heart.

As they await the inevitable time delays that will come with dealing with insurance etc., this young family has to work quickly to re-establish a home for their 10 year old son and their new baby boy. Help is required, in any way possible, to assist in the rebuilding of their life.

They escaped the fire with nothing but the clothes on their backs, their beloved dog Boomer, and each other.

Rachel has always had a giving heart and has continuously given back to the community by raising awareness and donating to numerous causes. She has changed so many lives with her great work and has donated her services many times to help local schools, hospital staff and others live their best life. As a new momma, again, she is in that sacred time when a nest is essential. As many parents know, having a newborn is hard enough as it is. Now is our time to help her out!

We hope that by launching this campaign we can rally behind them and their beautiful family so they can start over again and provide a happy life for their children.
