Please help Sophie finish college with Arsenal

Hi! My name is Hannah and my daughter Sophie is 17. We are a low income family due to myself being disabled with a life long illness called Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Sophie has been playing football since she was roughly 8 years old and has worked her way up to the level she is at now which is Oaklands Academy with Arsenal in Hertfordshire. She is a goalkeeper in the team. In 2019 she trialed for this opportunity and was successful. As we live in Oxford and the college and team are based in Hertfordshire we needed her to become a residential student which comes with an obvious cost. She has all her training and college courses paid for but we can only get assistance for a small amount to go towards the years accommodation cost. If we can’t pay for the accommodation she will lose her place that she has worked and still works so hard for as we cannot drive there and back on a daily basis. She has been there for a year now and has progressed extremely well in her football and in her studies has achieved a distinction for the end of year one. This coming year she is being offered some great opportunities to progress further to a possible professional contract which is what she’s worked so hard for. She works part time on top to try and help towards costs but we just cannot reach the total that is needed. When she is home she is also a carer for myself as is her younger brother. The guilt I feel in regard to that is immense but I would feel even worse if all her hard work was taken away from her because of not being able to afford accommodation.

Having to ask for help with money is something I find quite uncomfortable but it’s the only way we can hopefully keep her on the path she is on now. We would both be beyond grateful if anyone could donate or even share this page. Thank you for reading and I really hope I can update some positive news very soon.
