None of us will ever get over the extreme loss of our dear friend, Stan Rodenhauser. He was a loyal friend, surrogate father, and mentor to many of us. Stan was the most giving, generous human being that ever graced this planet. And if ever any of us asked a favor or were in need, Stan was always there to lend a helping hand.
Everyone knows of Stan's passion for aviation. But what everyone might not know is his extreme love and concern for animals, particularly the cats that lived outside of his house that is located on Freeway Airport property. For the past few years, Stan and his friends from Cause for Paws Cares have worked tirelessly in TNR (trap/neuter/return) all of these cats to keep the population of the Freeway Cats under control. But now that Stan is gone, the remaining cats desperately need help.
Many of the cats and kittens have been trapped and domesticated and placed in loving furever homes. But a lot of the remaining cats are totally feral and will not make good house pets. These cats need to be trapped and taken to a cat sanctuary where they can live out the rest of their lives in tranquility and peace.
Unfortunately, Stan passed away before he could make provisions for these cats. His family is concerned about the cats and have asked people to make a donation to a local rescue group in Stan's name. Connie Carter and Cause for Paws Cares, who are local to Bowie, MD, have stepped up to help with trapping, spaying/neutering, and relocating Stan's precious cats. But to be able to undergo this endeavor, money is needed.
The cost of re-homing these cats to the Cat Sanctuary is $400 per cat and there are probably about 20 or so cats still remaining at Stan's house. This $400 will cover getting all cats up-to-date on their shots as well as cover all of their needs once relocated to the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is located on a beautiful acreage of land in Salisbury, MD. Once there, the cats will be able to roam the area freely (as they are used to at the airport) but will also have access to shelters in inclement weather. They will be well taken care of by caretakers that live on-site and provided for daily with food and medical needs for the rest of their lives. All of this is included in the $400 fee. This is a beautiful cat sanctuary and a great place for Stan's beloved friends to reside safely for the rest of their lives.
Cause for Paws Cares has set up a special fund for Stan Rodenhauser and the Freeway Airport Cats. Any donation made to this Go Fund Me Campaign will go directly to this fund to help save these cats that Stan loved so much.
Stan was always a good friend to every one of us. He never turned any of us away when we were in need. Won't you step up now and help the cats that Stan sadly left behind. I know he's up in heaven worried about his dear kitties ...
Cause for Paws Cares is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and any donation you make is tax deductible. Any donation you can give, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us achieve saving Stan's cats.
