Please help Russell and Mandy not stress about bills and finances while he is in the fight for his life.
Russell was diagnosed with Seminoma cancer in July 2017, in his upper abdomen by his aorta. He underwent BEP chemotherapy from July to September 2017, with success of shrinking the mass. Russell followed up with a PET scan in October, but the results came back positive. The doctors scheduled a biopsy in November and the results were negative. He had scheduled to meet with a surgical urologist to remove the mass, in which the surgeon said he was a good candidate for and it could be removed safely. Surgery was scheduled for February 5th 2018. However, Russell experienced pain in January 2018 and followed up with his Oncologist, who admitted him into the hospital to run more tests. Results came back and they showed the cancer has grown. He was transferred to another hospital to meet with a new oncologist about a new Chemotherapy and stem cell therapy treatment plan. This new form of chemo will be extremely intense and highly invasive. It will completely break down the bone marrow and kill it, which is why they will have his bone marrow removed. It will also destroy his white and red blood cells and all of his platelets. There will be about 3 rounds of this treatment and each one last about a month long. Russell will have to be hospitalized while he is undergoing treatment, which will put him in the hospital for 3-5 months straight. No working, seeing friends, family, or loved ones since he will be highly susceptible to diseases and infections. If you are able to help and put them at ease during this rough time we would be extremely thankful. This will help with bills and medical expenses. Russell will not be able to work for awhile and any donation is appreciated.
