Please help us with travel and care expenses

Hello, my name is Stephanie. A few nights ago my stepson and 3 of his friends were in a horrible car accident. It was a 3 car pile up as they were hit by a drunk driver. One of them is doing okay but the other three children aren’t doing well at all. One was ejected and hasn’t awaken since the wreck and is in ICU. (She also has a fund set up to help with their needs as well) Our son was crushed and they used the jaws of life to free him. He went straight to OU Medical where . He went straight into surgery, which was a long 9 hours. His pelvis is shattered, they had to remove a kidney, his ribs are broken, he has a torn spleen, both lungs are collapsed, they had to keep his stomach open to drain fluid off of him. He is on a ventilator but in stable condition. They went in today for another surgery. He’s lost so much blood and has so much internal bleeding that they have been doing blood transfusions since he came in. He still has some internal bleeding which is being monitored. Shawn is such a sweet, kind, loving, bubbly 17 year young man. He loves basketball and his brothers, family, and friends so much. Recently we lost his older brother 10 months ago to Covid 3 days before his 24th birthday. Which brought all of the boys so much closer. We have faith that he is going to pull through. We all live 2 plus hours away from where he is located. So my goal is to help the parents with gas, food, extra money for bills from missing work, and buying things that we know we will need for him when he comes home. Thank you for your time. Please stress the importance of seatbelts and drinking and driving. This could have been avoided all together. I pray for the families of the other individuals who where in the other vehicles. I know one of them lost their lives. I hope and pray what’s happening to us helps someone out there to realize just how dangerous drinking and driving is and how seatbelts can help save your life as well.
